Geometry

  • What is geometry?

is a branch of mathemaics concerned with questions of shape, size, relative position of figures, and the properties of space. A mathematician who works in the field of geometry is called a geometer. Geometry arose independently in a number of early cultures as a body of practical knowledge concerning lenghts, areas, and volumes, with elements of a formal mathematical science.

  • Points, Lines & Planes

The most fundamental geometric form is a point. It is represented as a dot with a capital alphabet which is its name A line is a set of points and it extends in opposite directions up to infinity. It is represented by two points on the line and a double headed arrow or a single alphabet in the lower case. A plane is a two dimensional (flat) surface that extends in all directions up to infinity.
A plane has obviously no size and definitely no shape. However it is represented as a quadrangle and a single capital letter.

Classification of Angles

90 degree angles are called right angles.image006.gif

An angle that is less than 90o is called an acute angle.

An angle greater than 90o is called an obtuse angle.

Since any two rays with a common vertex form an angle, we could have an angle that measures as much as 180o when the rays point in opposite directions:

Such an angle is called a straight angle, and it is nothing more than a line.

Examples for each angle

Right angle:

Acute angles:

Obtuse angles:

Straight angle:  (the line)

Blog Assignment

The national debt is a problem of which we are all subjected to. At birth it is said that we already owe money. Your task is to find a way to calculate how much does a child born in 2013 owes at the time of birth.

Number of Habitants: 10,000,000 (ten millions)

National debt: 21,989 (twenty one thousands, nine hundred, eighty nine)

I divided the national debt by the number of habitants. The result is 2,198.9

Zero Gravity - Chair experiment

Zero gravity is the experience (of people and objects) during free fall. This is commonly experienced on spacecraft. Zero gravity represents the feeling of experiencing a force g zero or zero apparent weight. The acceleration is due to gravity alone, as opposed to cases where other forces, such as:

When one is standing on the floor or sitting in a chair on the floor, etc.. (Gravity is        countered by the reaction force from the floor.)

Video ''My man, Sir Isaac Newton''

It talks about the way in which Newton was connected with the universe. The video also mentions that Isaac Newton established laws of Optic, he put all the rainbow colors together for getting white. He also established three motion laws, for example, the universal law of gravitation. It also says that people go to study at universities to learn what he created in a dare.

Math Problem

Tyler and Christina are playing a game in which either wins, loses or draws (ties). The winner is awarded 5 points, and the loser loses 5 points. If it is a draw 0 points are awarded. For the first eight rounds Tyler had the following results: lose, win, lose, win, win, lose, win, draw. What was Christina's point total for the rounds?

Information:
  • One either loses, wins or its a draw (tie)
  • Win= +5
  • Loses= -5
  • Draw (ties)= 0
Christina's score was:  -5

 5 + (-5) + 5 + (-5) + (-5) + 5 + (-5) + 0 =  -5

Physical Science Problem

  • This is a problem using formulas about Speed, Time and Distance.

  • Problem:

Richard went to a Canyon last week, he shouted his name and the ecod comes back 8 seconds later, How deep is the Canyon?

Solution:

Distance= Speed · Time

Time= 8 seconds
Speed of sound= 340.29

8 ·340.29= 2722,32

So the canyon is 2722,32ft. deep

Back To School♥

Back to school.-♥

In this blog I will post about school. The teacher gave the idea to the class, and I really liked it.

Back to School means:

  • New Teachers
  • New Classmates
  • New Textbooks
  • Homework
  • Classwork
  • More Homework
  • No staying awake till 3:00 a.m. using internet
  • Did I mentioned Homework already?
